Care & Cleaning

It is recommended to wash your heated bedding product before initial use.
Prior to washing or storing your heated bedding product:

 

> Disconnect power cord from wall FIRST, then detach control cord from the heated product.
> Check that cords are not connected and wires have not worn through the fabric.
Carefully follow all washing instructions to avoid possible shrinkage and to prevent a potential fire hazard. Taking care of your heated bedding product is easy and safe as long as you follow a few simple steps.

· DO NOT submerge control in water.
· DO NOT dry clean your heated bedding product as dry cleaning solvents may damage the wires.
· DO NOT use bleach or cleaning fluids.
· DO NOT use a wringer.
· DO NOT iron your heated bedding product.
· DO NOT use mothballs or sprays of any kind.
· DO NOT reconnect the heated product or use it until it is COMPLETELY dry.
· DO NOT wash the power cord or any of the product’s cords or put into water.
· DO NOT use analgesic cream in combination with your heated bedding product.

Machine Washing

  • Presoak the blanket, mattress pad or throw for 15 minutes in mild soap and cold water.
  • Wash in mild soap and cold water on the “delicate” or “gentle” cycle in the washer for two minutes. Do not use bleach.
  • Rinse in fresh, cold water.
  • Spin dry in the washing machine. Then, gently shape to its original size.

Machine Drying

Caution: Do not use commercial dryers or the dryers at your local Laundromat as they get too hot and can damage the wiring of your heated product.
  • Preheat the dryer on the “low” temperature setting for 2 minutes.
  • Place blanket, mattress pad or throw into the dryer and tumble dry for 10 minutes at a low temperature.
  • Remove the blanket, mattress pad or throw while it is still damp and gently shape it to its original size.
  • Drape the heated product over a clothesline or a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins.
  • Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug.

Air Drying

Caution: Do not use commercial dryers or the dryers at your local Laundromat as they get too hot and can damage the wiring of your heated product.
  • Gently shape the blanket, mattress pad, or throw back to its original size.
  • Drape the heated product over a clothesline or hang over a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins.
  • Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug.
